Duke TIP is pleased to sponsor the Middle Grades Strand and Parent Day at the National Association for Gifted Children’s (NAGC) 53 rd Annual Convention to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, November 1-5, 2006.
The program is rich in content and scope with presentations focusing on differentiation, rigorous curriculum, and the social and emotional needs of high-ability learners.
Featured speakers include Dr. Art Costa, author of numerous books and articles on teaching thinking skills; Dr. Sylvia Rimm, psychologist and national expert on parenting and underachievement; and Homer Hickman, author of Rocket Boy, which inspired the movie October Sky.
Over 350 breakout sessions will also be offered.
