Learn online with Duke TIP

Duke TIP eStudies are an exciting distance learning opportunity for students in grades eight through twelve. Students connect with other gifted students and with a TIP instructor as they pursue advanced high school and college-level coursework on the Internet.

eStudies courses are delivered using Blackboard, a course management system used in university, high school, and corporate settings all over the world. Students in eStudies read course materials, post completed assignments, and interact with their peers and their instructor through online discussions, virtual lectures, and real-time collaborations. This opportunity to engage with other gifted students with similar academic interests, and with an experienced teacher who is both knowledgeable and passionate about the subject, makes Duke TIP eStudies a unique learning experience.

Most of the interactions in an eStudies course are asynchronous, meaning that students do not have to be online at a particular time to participate. eStudies courses allow students to benefit from a high level of interaction, while also offering flexibility not found in most face-to-face classes. The program is an interactive online virtual learning experience, offering online courses for gifted students that are intellectually rigorous and academically challenging.
