Field Studies

Field Studies offer you two-week employment opportunities to work with gifted students in unique locations such as New Mexico, Costa Rica, or China. U.S. field studies focus on students currently in grades nine through twelve, and international field studies focus on students currently in grades ten through twelve. Positions could entail working one course at a single site or two courses at different sites.Classes vary in size from 18–32 students and meet seven days a week for field work and instruction.Due to the intensive nature of each field study, instructional team members are responsible for residential aspects of the program, and residential team members participate in academic portions of the program. Most field studies have a group leader, an instructor, and two teaching assistants and residential counselors.You should possess a genuine interest in the academic, social, and emotional growth of adolescents, exhibit maturity, a positive attitude, and a willingness to serve as a role model.
