Year-round Programs
Distance Learning
Distance Learning programs are for gifted eighth through twelfth graders. Students pursue rigorous academic coursework in a virtual learning environment. You are responsible for developing, revising, and delivering appropriately challenging and engaging courses to students using Blackboard and other instructional technology applications.
Independent Learning
This set of programs offers part-time, short-term employment opportunities involving curriculum development and editorial positions. They require that you have subject area expertise, experience teaching gifted students, strong writing skills, and knowledge of differentiated instruction. The option to telecommute is available.
Scholar Weekends
This set of programs provides weekend-long opportunities for employment where you will intereact with students in grades eight to eleven. You can join the instructional team that creates and delivers stimulating course material, or you can join the residential team that supports students socially during their weekend at Duke University.
