About the Authors
Virginia Wilson is the Chairperson of the Department of Humanities at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. She received both AB and Ph.D. degrees from Duke University. In 2000, the National Council for Social Studies honored her as the National Secondary Social Studies Teacher of the Year; and she has received National Board Certification in Adolescent-Young Adult Social Studies. In addition, she is the co-author of Duke TIP's AP U.S. History, European History, and U.S. Government and Politics manuals; has taught in Duke TIP's summer programs; serves as a national College Board consultant, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke University.
James A. Litle is an instructor of history and social sciences at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. He is the co-author of Duke TIP's AP U.S. History, European History, and U.S. Government and Politics manuals; is a national consultant to the College Board; is an AP reader; and he serves as an instructor for Duke TIP's summer programs. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's of Art in Teaching degrees from Duke University.
