Enrollment Criteria
To take part in the 4th/5th Grade Talent Search students must meet the following criteria:
Grade
Students must be in 4th or 5th grade when applying. If a current 5th grader enrolled in the 4th/5th Grade Talent Search while they were in the 4th grade, they do not need to reapply. Benefits will continue to participants through their 6th grade year.
Test Scores
Students must have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on a grade level standardized achievement, aptitude, mental ability test battery, or approved state criterion-referenced test; or students must have scored at or above 125 on an IQ administration. Scores from either of the two most recent test administrations are acceptable; mental ability tests must be no more than two years old; and students need only qualify on one acceptable composite or subtest area. Tests of this type are already a regular part of a student’s elementary school experience.
