At Duke TIP, we understand the vital role of teachers and counselors as you provide information about education to students and their families. We appreciate your dedication in helping meet the unique academic and social-emotional needs of gifted children and adolescents. Duke TIP is committed to developing ways to help you identify and appropriately challenge the academically gifted students you work with.

We want to be a resource for you in addressing the educational needs of the students you serve. Duke TIP's 4th/5th Grade Talent Search helps teachers motivate and challenge young learners.

Duke TIP's Continuum of Services

Duke TIP provides academically talented students the opportunity to gain additional assessment of their abilities through taking the EXPLORE and ACT or SAT exams as above-level tests; summer, weekend, e-studies and independent learning programs to challenge them outside the classroom; and resources to keep them motivated and inform them and their families about their talent.

  • Web registration requires a MasterCard or Visa credit card. Debit cards are not accepted.
  • Web registration is not an option for students requesting fee waivers.

Paper application

Applications can be requested via the School Update form. Brochures and applications will be mailed to schools during the first week of January.

Note about late applications: If an application is received after the enrollment deadlines (see calendar) and is processed, it is possible that the student's name will not be included on the report sent to the school for recognition.
