It’s easy to inform students that they’re eligible for the 4th/5th Grade Talent Search or to ask for a fee waiver for your students. Simply distribute a personalized letter on your school’s letterhead.

Personalize the letter for each candidate using the following:

  • School ID Code: This number should appear on the address label on the front of this mailing. If it does not, use our school ID code lookup feature.
  • Qualifying Test Scores: This section lists widely used ability measures, and students must have scored in the 95th percentile or above on a grade level standardized achievement, aptitude, mental ability, or state criterion-referenced test. Get more information on the 2010 qualifying tests.

Fee Grant Letter

The fee grant letter may be used for students who are enrolling in the Duke TIP 4th/5th Grade Talent Search and who qualify for the free or reduced lunch program at your school. Students requesting a fee grant must submit either this letter on school stationery or a copy of their free or reduced lunch advisement letter with their application. The fee grant letter must accompany the students’ applications. Schools submitting applications in bulk may list all eligible students on one form.
